About Us

'Tis better to give than receive. That is a phrase most of us have heard our whole lives, usually beginning when Mom was trying to get us to share with our siblings.  It took Jim and I a long time to buy into that concept. It took cancer to make us see that joy doesn't come from possessions, but from relationships. It feels a whole lot better to be the one giving help than the one needing help.

We have always donated some to charity. That small percentage of our income seemed like a burden then, another form of taxation, a distraction from reaching our ultimate financial goals. Did we give our time to help others in need? Very little. We were too busy with our own lives and careers.

Jim was diagnosed with cancer more than seven years ago. For the first couple of years we viewed cancer treatment much the same as other chores on our list. It was one more thing added to our busy schedules. Despite aggressive treatment, the cancer came back. The long term prognosis was dismal now.

Faced with more surgery and more chemotherapy, the decision for Jim to take early retirement was easy. That was the right decision for Jim as well as his staff, employees, and employer.

Just in my late-forties, it was a much tougher decision for me to give up my career. That is, until I asked myself how I wanted to spend what could possibly be the last few years of our life together. Decisions made, we both retired in the Spring of 2003.

During the past five years we have become more and more involved with our favorite charities, schools, church and student organizations. Our lives have never been better! The more we open our hearts to others, the more God blesses us.

We opened Signature Tokens so that we can continue to share. We have developed some of our fundraiser items, and personalize other gifts, accessories and awards just for you or the cause you care about.

It really is better to give than receive, whether your gift is for one special person, or for an organization that supports a cause that touches your heart. Thank you for choosing Signature Tokens as your gift and fundraising source.

Preserving memories,
